Nachos, and Fiddler on the Roof

This past Sunday my ward had a Nacho Social. It was a very yummy dinner/lunch :D I got to know some of the people in my ward a bit better. Here are some of the pictures of all of us having a fun time.

Then on Monday for FHE the few of us that showed up went rollerskating. It was poorly attended FHE but, it was still fun. Here are a few pictures of the rollerskating on campus.

In my intro to community health class we had a project were we had to do a picture board about something in the community that affected public health. My group decided to do the parks in Rexburg. Mostly talking about how it is great that there are so many parks, but how there are still many things that need to be improved about them. The park that I had was Porter Park, this is the park closests to me and since I don't have the ability to get to the parks that need a car to get to, I got this park. Honestly I had a hard time finding things in this park that needed improvement, other than it was way to cold on the day I took pictures, so almost no one was there. But that is a weather issue not a park issue. The only improvement I found in this park was it needs a bike rack. It has none so a lot of times bikes end up getting locked to tables, or the playground. But anyway here are a few of the pictures that I took.  Just a legal note: all people in these pictures gave me permission to have their pictures taken :)

This is a picture of my math teacher. What I was really trying to do was get a picture of the math he had just done, but he was to fast. One day my teacher was telling us (his class) about a famous professor who would come into a classroom where the previous classes work was on the board. He would proceed to erase all of the work except for the answer that was one the board, and then teach the entire lesson with it ending in the math that he did being solved into the answer that he had left on the board. So on this particular day the professor before our class left an answer on the board and challenged my professor to do this. Needless to say, my professor met the challenge and fulfilled it in about 2 mins or less. He gave us an example of a problem we had learned the day before that solved into the answer left. It was pretty cool.

In my chem lab this week we synthesized a chemical :D This synthesizing involved many different things that we had used this semester. One new instrument that we used, is seen in this picture. I can't remember what it is called but basically it is a tube that is inside of another tube. there is a space in between the two tubes. the outside tube has two openings on the side, while the inside tube has openings on the top and bottom. basically what goes in the outside tube cannot be mixed with what is put in the inside tube. because of the way it is made. It is confusing to explain unless you see it, and I know this picture is not the best to show it. Any way we used this as a cooling system. we put cold water in the outside tube so it was constantly flowing in one end and out the other then the stuff in the vial under neath was being boiled, the steam was flowing up into the inside tube, but as they did the inside tube was getting cooled down by the water flowing around it, and thus cooling down the vapors so that they dropped back down into the vial. in this way we were able to synthesis our chemicals and get them to react without loosing any of them.
This all sounds confusing, but needless to say it was pretty cool :)

This is the tools we used to dry out our wet synthesized chemical. Basically we put the wet chemicals in the top where the funnel is, there is a filter paper in there. then there is sucction, so it sucks out all of the liquid and leaves behind the dry chemical.
So this lab was some fun stuff.

This is what I had for lunch one of the days this week. Brings back fun memories :D

Not sure if you can see what the paper says, but this is a "fire place" that was in one of the apartments of the girls that I visit teach. The paper underneath the fire says "may all your bacon burn". I promise for those of you who think this might be a mean phrase, it is a funny quote from a video. for those of you who know the reference, I hope you enjoy it :D
And then last but not least, This Sunday I was showing Christina Fiddler on the Roof! She has never seen it before, we only saw the first half, and next Sunday we will watch the second half. I love this movie, it is a fun one ;)
Well everyone that is all for this week. I love you all very much, and hope you are all doing well. I am glad to hear that Grandpa is feeling better and will be with us a while longer. I love you all.

Birthday's and Life

Well you would think after missing a week of writing I would have more pictures and more to say. but that does not seem to be the instant in this case. Last week was my Birthday. I got a some wonderful presents from Sarah (my sister), a wonderful Call from the family in Ohio, and a yummy cake from the girls I live with. That is what the pictures are of below. On my Birthday not much really happened. It was life as usual, with lots of homework. That weekend though, Christina brought me to the movies. We went and saw Zootopia. This was a wonderful movie, that I would like to suggest everyone go and see.
Other than that life has been going on as usual. me getting schoolwork done, getting distracted, then getting more school work done. I have 3 exams coming up this week, so hopefully I will be able to focus enough to do well on them. I am praying and hoping for the diligence.
Thanks for everyone's prayers and encouragement. Following are some pictures of the cake, me, and all the girls I live with.

It was a cookies and Cream cake. A very Yummy one!

This is just to show an example of the papers and things that I grade as a TA, this pile took me a long time! But I am greatful for the job :)
I hope you are all doing well. I love you very much :)
